Dr. Sione Akauola FACRRM, AFRACMA, MMed (Crit.Care), MBBS, DCH, JCCA, is a dedicated medical specialist fostering health initiatives between Tonga and Australia. As the founder of TongaOz Health, a comprehensive health hub opening in Tonga in July 2025, his vision centers on providing affordable, holistic care for all, supporting international visitors, guiding Tongans navigating Australian healthcare, and establishing a vital training center for medical professionals.
Born and raised in Tonga, Dr. Akauola brings extensive clinical experience, including 5 years across Tonga Islands (including one year in Niuatoputapu) and 17 years work experience in Australia. This is coupled with his extensive postgraduate and specialist training in Australia—including valuable experience in Rural Remote, General Practice, Urgent Care, Emergency Medicine, and Anaesthesia. He holds a unique dual perspective to healthcare, maintaining clinical privileges and active practice in both Tonga and Australia. Through TongaOz Health, he utilizes his expertise to deliver culturally sensitive and impactful health solutions for the community.
